Tintype Portrait Sessions
The wet plate collodion process was introduced in the 1850s by Frederick Scott Archer. It involves coating a plate, sensitizing, developing, and fixing, on site and all while the plate is still wet. Exposures are counted in seconds, and the plates are objects, an artifact of an interaction. The images are of exceeding detail and beauty, and are a one of a kind photograph unlike any other.
I am available for portraits, advertising, landscapes, architecture, and events. Please contact me through the link on my site to schedule a session. 8"x10" tintype sessions are $300 and include 2 plates. 11”x14” sessions are $500 and include 2 plates.
I live and work in Western North Carolina. I am happy to discuss travel, but as I frequently get requests from folks in LA, I want to clarify that I am not this Joshua White, and that he does not make tintypes.
